Radio Free Texas

Privacy Policy

Last updated July 14, 2026

Radio Free Texas is a radio station, not a data business. We collect the minimum we need to run the station, we don't sell it, and we tell you plainly what we do with it.

What we collect

Listening needs nothing. You can stream every channel without an account and without giving us anything.

An accountstores your username, email address, and password (hashed — we can't read it). Your activity on the station — requests, ratings, favorites, follows, credits — is stored with your account so the features work.

Network addresses (IP). We log the network a request or rating comes from. This exists for one reason: keeping the request lines honest — bot networks have gamed Texas radio requests before, and IP history is how we catch it.

Cookies. We use a session cookie to keep you signed in. No third-party advertising trackers.

Payments

Purchases (credit packs, featured placements, subscriptions, advertising) are processed by Stripe. Your card details go to Stripe, not to us — we never see or store them. We keep a record of what you bought.

Email

We send email through Mailgun for things you asked for: account verification, password resets, and notifications about your own activity (like a request airing or an artist-page claim being approved). We don't send marketing blasts to people who didn't opt in.

Longtime members

If you had an account on the original Radio Free Texas community (2005–2013), your username, email, and points were carried over so your history — and your place on the all-time boards — survives. Those accounts are dormant until you claim them with a password reset. If you'd rather we delete yours entirely, ask.

What we'll never do

We don't sell your data. We don't share it with advertisers — sponsors on RFT buy airtime, never audiences or listener data. We don't publish listener counts, and artist analytics only ever show artists aggregate signals about their own music, never who you are.

Your choices

You can see and change your account details on your account page. Want your account and its data deleted? Email us and we'll do it. Questions about any of this: daniel@rftmedia.com.
