Terms of Service

Welcome to Radio Free Texas. These are the house rules. Using the site or the streams means you accept them.

The station

Radio Free Texas is a non-interactive internet radio service operating under the statutory webcasting license (17 U.S.C. §114). What airs is decided by the station. Requests are invitations, not orders: a request influences programming but never guarantees a particular song at a particular time, and all programming stays within the legal performance rules.

Requests & credits

Requesting is free — every account gets a daily allowance of credits. Credits are a feature of the site, not money: they have no cash value, can't be transferred or redeemed, and may be adjusted for abuse. Paid options (like dedications or cut-the-line) buy the experience around your request — never airplay itself.

Airplay is never for sale

No one can buy their way onto the air. Featured placements, advertising, and subscriptions buy clearly-labeled exposure on the website or announced sponsorships — the music that airs is always the station's editorial choice.

Your account

One person per account. You're responsible for what happens on yours. Gaming the request lines, ratings, or charts — bots, multi-accounts, coordinated padding — gets your activity discounted and can get the account closed. (We've been fighting request-line fraud since the 2000s. We're good at spotting it.)

Conduct

Dedications and any other user text are moderated before they air or display. Keep it legal and keep it decent; we can decline anything that isn't.

Artists

Submitting music grants us permission to review it and, if we add it, to broadcast it on the station's channels under our licenses. You keep all your rights. Claimed artist pages must be claimed by the artist or their authorized representative — misrepresentation gets a claim revoked.

Purchases

Payments are processed by Stripe. Placements and subscriptions run for their stated term. If we cancel something you paid for (other than for abuse), we'll refund the unused portion. Advertising runs under its own insertion terms.
